Have you ever wanted to travel? Not just once but be constantly travelling and seeing new places around the world? Or maybe just have a second home somewhere abroad? Expensive? Too hard? Not as much as you might think!

I received an email a little while back from someone promoting a program called the New Five Flags program. I get a lot of emails from all sorts of different sources and programs as I love to learn; and so sign up for ANYTHING if I think it is interesting or makes me curious in any way.

RELEVANCE:

When New Five Flags program came into my inbox, I read the blurb and it sounded like a product that, like Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad Poor Dad helping us escape the rat race, would help us live life differently and escape even more constraints of the systems around us. Travel internationally, become an expat/expatriate and be just a little more free from the chains of life. Not going against the system, just working within the system to get access to other services and abilities. For example,  having a second passport and citizenship with other countries, they say, enables you to pay less tax, fly in and out of more countries with ease, own businesses in other countries (and get tax benefits from it) and lots of other big selling points. This is partly what intrigued me about this program -the other part was the price!

The cost is quite small considering what they are offering, I think. It is well less than the several hundreds of dollars that you may have to pay elsewhere (or even thousands if it is personal information or a one-on-one session!) So I found that the price is very fair for what you get. You also get access to audio sessions and the pdf workbooks to go along with it, not to mention coaching calls to get any further questions answered too. With all this value at a minimal cost, I couldn’t resist!

I took the plunge and here’s what I found:

While there is much information out there on how to become an expat and retire abroad and that sort of thing, Absolute Rights is one of the first company that I know of that have re-branded their information. The New Five Flags program, read by Johnny Mueller, speaks of not retiring overseas but doing it right now and setting yourself up for the future and (no pun intended but) getting the best of both worlds. ;)

PRODUCT OVERVIEW:

Your probably thinking by now “what’s with the Five Flags reference in the title?” Well the meaning of the five flags is that they show you how to have one of your five flags each in a different country, or in just a few depending on what your reasons are for doing it. One flag for each module. ;)

The first module explains what to look for in getting a second citizenship/passport. The biggest thing for me with this one was what due diligence you needed to do and the questions you needed to ask yourself in order to find out what country would be appropriate to get you the lifestyle that you might need. When you ask the right questions you may find that the one country you wanted to get a second passport in may actually not be as good as what you thought and another country which you had scratched off your list may now become highly appropriate for different reasons.

The second module is on how to set up business and investments in other countries. While you would think that going overseas to smaller foreign countries would be great for your purchasing dollar and not so good for your selling dollar coming back in to your wallet and thus you would not be able to make much money overseas, Johnny Mueller, the author of the program and voice, explains that there are plenty of people living overseas and making money with their local businesses. And of course how to go about it the right way and legally.

The third module in the New Five Flags Program explains the way to go about setting up your place of residence in another country. Do you need to relinquish your previous citizenship? Probably not and you will find that you probably don’t want to either. I got a lot of new knowledge on dual citizenship that I didn’t know was important to ask about. Johnny also explains how to get fantastic local knowledge. What I learned is not only that lawyers are a lot more useful in a foreign country than you might think but also to get the ones who AREN’T as used to speaking with foreigners. This is because they are more likely to give you more advice and answer your questions realistically instead of just giving you a cookie cutter product which gets SOLD to tourists just like you by all the lawyers on the tourist trail. Ultimately do you want to live like a local, live like a tourist or somewhere in between and have the best of both worlds? :)

The fourth module talks about asset protection and discusses the importance of not red flagging yourself to the authorities. One of Johnny’s mantras is “while we are not telling you to do things illegally you must remember that what may be illegal in one country may not be illegal in another country.” If you subscribe to the idea that there is a world financial crisis coming then this module is certainly for you, to protect your assets and funds from the next GFC that will surely hit.

And lastly the most important module is what they call “Your Playground.” This is the country that you choose to have fun in, unhindered by certain rules from your home country. Do you want mountains to climb, foods to try, temples to visit, hills to ski, resorts to swim at lakes to boat or canoe around…. the list could go on forever! This is why most people buy the program and subscribe to the idea of traveling or living overseas is that they can have a holiday everyday of the year if you chose to!

IN SUMMARY:

My partner and I are currently looking into a lot of the methods they speak of right now. My partner has always had a fascination with Bali and so she and I are looking to set up one of our flags there along with another one in Europe as we have family over there. We are both really excited about it!

Just like before speaking with your tax agent, you do need to be fully aware of your current situation as you can’t really just point to Warren Buffet and say “I’ll have what he’s having.” Every situation is different. So Johnny  doesn’t go into a whole lot of specifics about what WILL work and what WON’T work for YOU, which is fair I think. They give you guidance on what they have found to be something that may red flag yourself with the authorities and also the things that will enable you to have maximum freedoms from systems and certain laws while remaining under the radar and then let you fill in the blanks for yourself. They can’t tell you how to live your life nor could they guarantee what will and won’t work as the world is ever changing. That’s one of the most exciting things about it! They can only show you that they ARE doing it and show you how to learn from their mistakes.

Maybe it’s not the best product out there for people outside of the US because Johnny Mueller talks a lot about Latin America as that is what he has found to be the best (for a number of very appropriate reasons). But I don’t know of anything better right now. So YES, it’s INSPIRING to say the least and PRACTICAL to say the most!

PS In case you haven’t checked it out yet click the link below to have a look. No you don’t have to purchase it of course, but the fact that you made it this far means that you are obviously interested in the concept of living overseas somewhat. :)
